New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard was listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers in East Rutherford, N.J.
Shepard, who was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, joins fellow receivers Kadarius Toney (ankle) and Kenny Golladay (knee) as well as star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) in being sidelined for Sunday's contest. Cornerbacks Josh Jackson and Sam Beal as well as defensive tackle Danny Shelton were also ruled out.
Wide receivers Darius Slayton and John Ross, who both were listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, were active for the Giants (1-5). Tight end Evan Engram also is active despite being questionable with an ailing calf.
Shepard was able to play in last Sunday's 38-11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and finished with 10 catches for 76 yards. Slayton did not play last week, while Ross was held without a catch and Engram had just three receptions for 24 yards.
Offensive tackle Cameron Erving, defensive tackle Phil Hoskins, defensive end Darryl Johnson, cornerback Rashaan Melvin, linebacker Shaq Thompson, wide receiver Terrace Marshall and fullback Giovanni Ricci were listed as inactive for the Panthers (3-3), who have lost three in a row.
